On the night of Friday, 5 June, three civilians belonging to the Ahmadi community were injured in a terrorist firing incident perpetrated by unidentified gunmen outside an Ahmadi mosque in Rabwah (also known as Chenab Nagar), Chiniot District, Punjab, as reported by Dawn. The gunmen were likely members of an underground terrorist sectarian group who were attempting to bring harm to members of the Ahmadi community.

Meanwhile on Saturday, 6 June, two militants of the Pakistani Taliban — also known as the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) — including one identified as Umar were killed during a firefight with Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and Police personnel in the Tibbi Qaisrani area of Taunsa District, Punjab, as reported by Iftikhar Firdous (@IftikharFirdous), insurgency warfare (@Pakilad3), War Analyst (@War_Analysts), Mohsin Ali (@Mohsin_o2), Shabbir Hussain Turi (@ShabbirTuri) and Eagle Eye (@zarrar_11PK) on X. Contrary to earlier reports however, senior Taliban commander and head of the TTP’s South Punjab chapter Umar Muawiya was not among the casualties of this encounter.
