Two Peace Committee militiamen, two Police officials, two civilians and 44 Taliban militants killed in multiple clashes and terrorist attacks throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

A string of clashes between security forces personnel and Peace Committee militiamen on one side and Taliban militants on the other side, as well as a number of terrorist attacks by Taliban militants targeting civilians, Peace Committee members and off-duty security officials, resulted in the deaths of 50 people on 19-21 April throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The deceased include two Peace Committee militiamen, two Police personnel, two civilians and 44 Taliban militants. Additionally a civilian was also injured while two Taliban militants were arrested in these incidents.

An exchange of fire erupted on Sunday, 19 April between militants of the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) — also known as the Pakistani Taliban — and pro-government Peace Committee militiamen in the Sawal Wanda area of Domel Tehsil in Bannu District at the boundary between Sarai Naurang Tehsil, Lakki Marwat District and Domel Tehsil, Bannu District. The clash resulted in the killing of two Taliban militants affiliated with the Majlis-e-Askari Karavan group of the Hafiz Gul Bahadur (HGB) faction, including Commander Wahidullah alias Mukhtar. Wahidullah was the right-hand man of Commander Akhtar Muhammad Khalil, the leader of the Majlis-e-Askari Karavan group. A separate exchange of fire was reported on Sunday in the Baka Khel Tehsil of Bannu District between Peace Committee militiamen and Taliban militants. The clash led to the death of a Taliban militant identified as Faryadi, also linked to the Majlis-e-Askari Karavan group of the HGB faction. Sources linked to the TTP confirmed the deaths of Faryadi and Commander Wahidullah alias Mukhtar. The incident was reported by Jawad Yousafzai (@JawadYousufxai) on X.

Separately, another exchange of fire erupted on Monday, 20 April between Police personnel and Taliban militants during a security forces operation conducted by Police in a forested area near Khundan in Lakki Marwat District, bordering Bannu. The ensuing exchange of fire resulted in the deaths of two Taliban militants, including a commander identified as Aamir Sohail alias Uqabi, while a Police constable also lost his life in the clash. Aamir Sohail was reportedly involved in the target killings of multiple civilians in the area. The incident was reported by Eagle Eye (@zarrar_11PK) and Pak-Afghan Matters (@pakafghanmatter) on X.

Meanwhile, a separate clash was reported on Monday in the district of North Waziristan, when a Taliban militant attempted to infiltrate across the border from Afghanistan into Pakistan. Security forces intercepted him and this led to a fire exchange that led to the death of the Taliban militant. The deceased militant was identified as Abdullah Jan alias Dujana, an Afghan national hailing from Gardez of Paktia Province, and his body was later handed over to the Afghan authorities. Separately, a UCAV drone strike conducted by security forces targeting a suspected TTP position was reported at around 9:45 PM local time on Monday in the Ping area of Wazir Tehsil (formerly Frontier Region Bannu) in Bannu District near Domel. The drone strike resulted in upto 6 Taliban militants killed. The incident was reported by Pak-Afghan Matters (@pakafghanmatters) on X.

A terrorist attack was carried out by Taliban militants on Tuesday, 21 April targeting Peace Committee members in the Baghukhel area of Lakki Marwat District. According to police, the attack was carried out within the jurisdiction of Lakki City Police Station The attack resulted in critical injuries to two Peace Committee militiamen identified as Safiullah and Afnan Khan, both active members of the local Peace Committee. The two men were rushed to City Hospital after the attack, where they succumbed to their injuries. The incident was reported by The Khyber Chronicles (@TKCkhyber) on X.

An unidentified quadcopter drone strike (likely by Taliban militants) was carried out on Tuesday targeting civilians in the Lodez area of Bara Tehsil, Khyber District. A young girl was injured along with several livestock as a result of the quadcopter drone strike. The incident was reported by Lal Wazir (@lalwazir19) on X.

Separately on Tuesday, a fire exchange erupted between Taliban militants and security forces in the Akakhel area of Bara Tehsil, Khyber District, when security forces launched an operation in the area. Five Taliban militants were killed during the operation. A young child was also killed as he was caught in the crossfire between Taliban militants and security forces during the exchange of fire. A separate terrorist attack was carried out by Taliban militants targeting Police constable Ata-ur-Rehman in the Mamash Khel area in Bannu District. Police constable Ata-ur-Rehman was killed by Taliban militants in the attack. Ata-ur-Rehman was a resident of Dheri Syedan Mamash Khel in Bannu and was returning home after completing his duty when he was attacked and killed. Separately, a fire exchange was reported on Monday when security forces personnel exchanged fire with Taliban militants in the Mamtin Khel area of Jani Khel Tehsil in Bannu District. During the clash, a Taliban militant identified as Naimat Wazir alias “Grenade” — affiliated with the Ittehad-ul-Mujahideen Pakistan (IMP) group — was killed. The incident was reported by War Analyst (@War_Analysts) on X.

A separate incident was reported by War Analyst (@War_Analysts) on X, when on Tuesday four Taliban militants were killed by members of the Sada Khel tribe in Bannu District after the militants had allegedly abducted a local resident to be held for ransom.

Separately, a major operation was conducted by security forces personnel on Tuesday in the Kanduri village of Bara Tehsil, Khyber District, as reported by the Inter-Services Public Relations, the media and public relations wing of the Pakistan Armed Forces. During the operation, at least 22 Taliban militants were killed, while another two were arrested by security forces as reported by War Analyst (@War_Analysts) on X. An Army Captain and two SSG personnel were also critically injured in the exchange of fire that erupted during the operation.
