Two personnel of the Frontier Corps were killed in a terrorist attack carried out by Pakistani Taliban (TTP) militants on a security forces checkpost in Bannu District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, The Khyber Chronicles reports.
The incident occurred on Saturday, 18 April, when armed motorcycle-borne terrorists affiliated with the TTP opened fire on security forces personnel within the jurisdiction of Cantt Police Station near Kurram Garhi in Bannu District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to initial reports, the firing resulted in the martyrdom of two Frontier Corps personnel.
Following the attack, security forces personnel immediately cordoned off the area and Frontier Corps soldiers engaged the attacking militants, with reinforcements being brought in to secure the surrounding areas and prevent further escalation. Shortly afterwards, security forces personnel launched a search-and-clear operation to trace the militants responsible for the attack, while Police personnel were deployed to secure the area and assist ongoing security operations.
